I giggled at the thought of this hilarious term 'groom abduction'. It happens in Bihar where eligible and potential grooms are forced into wedlock.How do we crib about living in a male dominated society I wonder! 1300 cases of groom kidnapping have been registered in Bihar.
Based on this, a film (Antardwand) is being released on August 27. It is about an abducted groom who was forcibly married to someone he didn't intend to. It is surprising that groom abduction is given a green light among upper castes in northern states where potential bridegrooms are targetted by the girl's family to save dowry.
